1. Who we are

Fiction Addicts Anonymous (“FAA”, “we”, “us”) operates a membership platform for authors and readers at fiction-addicts.com. By creating an account you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate details, keep your login secure, and be at least 16 years old. One account per person. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, abuse other members, or misuse manuscripts.

3. Memberships and billing

Reader accounts (Initiate) are free. Author memberships (Scribe and Alchemist) are paid monthly, yearly, or as a one-off lifetime seat. Recurring plans may include a 7 day trial for first-time members; lifetime seats never include a trial.

Recurring memberships renew automatically until cancelled. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and your access continues until then. Lifetime seats do not renew.

Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice for future renewals. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.

4. Refunds

Because membership unlocks digital access immediately, fees already charged are generally non-refundable except where required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. If something has gone wrong, contact us and we will work it out with you.

5. Manuscripts, ARCs and beta reads

Authors keep all copyright in the work they upload. By listing a manuscript for ARC or beta reading you grant FAA a limited licence to display it inside the platform to the readers you have made it available to, for the duration of the reading window.

Readers receive a personal, non-transferable right to read the manuscript on this platform only. You must not download, copy, screenshot, redistribute, publish, translate, train models on, or sell any part of a manuscript. Copies shown to readers are watermarked and misuse is traceable and may result in permanent removal and legal action.

Claim limits apply: up to 3 active ARCs or 1 active beta read at a time, until you submit the required review or feedback.

6. Reviews and community conduct

Reviews must be your own honest opinion of a book you have read. Do not post abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or off-topic content, personal information, spam, or paid-for reviews. Reviewer points and prize pools are awarded at our discretion and may be withheld where reviews look manufactured.

We may moderate, hide, or remove reviews, replies, and accounts that breach these standards. Feedback marked “Author's eyes only” is shared with the author and our moderators, not published.

7. Service requests and proposals

Service requests let you ask us to arrange professional help (editing, covers, marketing and similar). Submitting a request is not a contract. We may respond with a written proposal setting out scope, turnaround and price; a contract forms only when you accept that proposal and pay through the platform.

Quoted prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Deliverables, revisions and timing are those set out in the accepted proposal. Work paid for but not started can be cancelled for a refund of the unstarted portion; work already delivered is not refundable.

8. Content you post

You keep ownership of everything you post, and grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and promote it on the platform and in related marketing. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including cover art.

9. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep the platform running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, particular review volumes, sales, or reader numbers. To the extent permitted by law our liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: hello@fictionaddictsanonymous.com.
